Getting there. Mahone Bay opens off the Atlantic between Chester and Lunenburg and is scattered with islands — hold the marked routes and treat the chart as mandatory rather than advisory. The resort marina is on the mainland shore at Western Shore, opposite Oak Island itself. Daily dockage is $3.25 per foot with a 25-foot minimum, and unusually the rate includes shore power at any amperage plus the hotel pools and fitness room. The season runs mid-May to October 15; call ahead for a Dock n' Dine slip. Always carry official charts and current Notices to Mariners.
